Since the start of this year, Jarred Younger is producing weekly videos on different reseacrh- and clinical aspects of ME, Long Covid and Fibromyalgia.
Till so far he has issued the follwing videos. All go with transcripts.
Video 1 – Introduction
29th January 2024
“Welcome to the Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue series!
This is video #1. I’ll be releasing videos every week on the newest brain imaging and clinical trial studies, including the most exciting things coming out of my lab. This series is for people with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis, long-COVID, Gulf War illness, and related chronic pain, fatigue, and cognitive issues.“

Video 2 – New Psilocybin Clinical Trial
5th February 2024
“In #2 of this Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue series, I am discussing a new clinical trial using psilocybin for chronic pain. This study will be running throughout 2024.

Video 3 -Tracking Leukocytes Infiltrating the Brain
12th February 2024
“I’m excited to present a new neuroimaging scan that allows us to follow leukocytes (immune cells) that penetrate the blood-brain barrier and infiltrate the brain.
I believe this abnormal infiltration of the brain is initiating brain inflammation and causing chronic fatigue, pain, cognitive disorders, mood disorders, and other issues.
Watch the video to hear where we are right now in developing this scan.”
Video 4: – Low Dose Naltrexone for the Treatment of Long-COVID
19th February 2024
“In this video, I talk about a treatment that may help reduce Long-COVID symptoms.”
It is based on the publication of this article on 24th January 2024.
Watch the video here for further explanation.
Video 5 – The National Institutes of Health ME/CFS Roadmap
26th February 2024
“Between now and March 8th, 2024, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking public opinion on the ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Roadmap. I encourage everyone to look at the draft research priorities and submit ideas and comments. I describe the process in this video.”
Watch the video for Jarred Younger’s description.
Note: the deadline was extended to March 11th, so no comments can be submitted anymore. For the sake of completeness we include this video however.
Video 6 – Simple blood tests to detect inflammation
4th March 2024
“I get asked quite often how someone can find out if they have chronic inflammation. Here are 8 blood tests that your physician can order. If the test results show abnormalities, it is possible that your chronic pain, fatigue, or cognitive issues are due to sustained inflammation.”
Watch the video for further explanation.
Video 7 – Detecting neuroinflammation with brain imaging
11th March 2024
“Here is one of our recent studies using brain imaging to detect neuroinflammation in fibromyalgia.”
Watch the video for more information.
It is based on this study of Christina Mueller, Yu-Hua D. Fang, Chloe Jones, Jonathan E. McConathy, Fabio Raman, Suzanne E. Lapi, and Jarred Younger himself
Video 8 – An important change from local to remote biomedical research
Here’s a brief update on my recent shift from traditional clinical trials to remote clinical trials in which individuals can participate from anywhere in the United States. I already have an ongoing remote trial for Gulf War Illness and hope to expand to fibromyalgia, Long-COVID, and ME/CFS.
This remote approach is not common, but is being embraced by an increasing number of labs. I am excited that this change will give people the opportunity to participate who never could before.
I have only one remote trial right now, and that is for Gulf War Illness. This is the link for that study
